A community defibrillator to help cardiac arrest patients is available in the red telephone box to the right of the Blacksmith's Arms car park on Main Street.

If an emergency arises, call 999 for an ambulance. If the patient needs the defibrillator and there is someone available to operate it, the ambulance service will provide the access code. The defibrillator is fully automated with video instructions and requires no user training.

The village is very grateful to the children of Naburn C of E Primary School who raised £730 towards the defibrillator's cost, and to Wheldrake Ward for a Funding Grant for the balance.
