The Village Hall is central to village life and is used for a wide range of events including the summer gala, the Christmas bazaar (complete with Santa’s grotto!), quiz nights, private parties, children’s birthday parties, and a variety of group and club meetings. It's also pressed into use as a Polling Station on election days.

The Hall is available to rent and has a capacity of up to 200 people. It has a Public Entertainments Licence, a fully-equipped kitchen and a range of chairs and tables. Rental documents can be downloaded below:

The Hall is a former NAAFI hut recovered from Filey RAF Camp in 1946 and erected on its present site (given in trust by Commander George Bryan Palmes of Naburn Hall) in Vicarage Lane in 1947. Considering that it’s a second-hand “temporary” building, the hall has served the community remarkably for well over 60 years! It was completely renovated in 2010 and is managed as a registered charity by a committee, consisting of up to 14 members elected for 12 months at the annual AGM.
